Hello
My name is Av and I am a freelance VFX Supervisor and Flame Artist with three decades of experience creating high-end visual effects for film, television, and commercials. My career began at the BBC in the 1990s, and I went on to join Framestore in London, where I became the company's first Flame Operator and spent the next two decades helping to shape some of its most memorable work.
Throughout my career, I have contributed to a wide range of acclaimed projects, from the iconic opening titles of the James Bond films with Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, to Four Lions with Chris Morris, and The Golden Compass. I am also proud to have received two Emmy Awards for my work on "Merlin" and "Alice in Wonderland".
In 2013, I traded the bustle of Hackney for the charm of Bath and began working as a freelancer, while continuing to collaborate with many of London's leading post production houses.
I love creating beautiful visuals, helping directors bring their ideas to life, and being part of a creative team. I like to think that I bring a creative eye, strong technical skills, and a problem solving approach to every project. With my own Flame setup and years of experience delivering high end work under tight deadlines, I aim to make the entire post process smooth, flexible, and enjoyable.
Outside of work, I am an avid film lover, enthusiastic photographer, and occasional pool player. I spend time photographing my local football team and love the sense of community that comes with it. I also enjoy going to comedy shows whenever I can, as there is nothing quite like a good laugh to balance out a long day. I have a soft spot for the books of Iain Banks and Ian Rankin and will happily talk films, technology, or stand up over a pint or two.
